This is a multi-level growth series position (Grade Level 26/27/28). The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process, as they meet the criteria defined below.

The associate in this position will provide technical/analytical and functional support in the area of project controls, including scheduling and gating for the Centralized Work Planning and Scheduling Team. They must possess skills and expertise in the following areas: work management, resource optimization, construction job dispatching, monitoring of work in progress, cost accounting and financial controls, variance analysis, and performance reporting. This position will work closely with other internal resources engaged in scheduling and job dispatching and may oversee external resources performing this function.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: daily gating/dispatching of work to Electric Distribution resources in alignment with the work plan; data management of work orders and operations in DWMS and CAD; confirmation of proper accounting settlement of work orders before release; work bundling and resource optimization to maximize efficiencies; ensuring accurate closeout of work completed including verification of proper accounting; monitoring and controlling work progress to ensure adherence to schedule; productivity analysis; variance reporting and corrective action recommendations as needed. The applicant must possess a strong understanding of electric delivery planning, engineering and construction.

This position will require close coordination with Electric Operations Engineering and Construction departments (overhead and underground), and the Electric Operations Principal Work Integration Managers; the Centralized Work Planning and Scheduling Team Principal Work Integration managers and strategic analysts; and P&C project teams including Project Managers and Project Cost Engineers.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • BS in Engineering, Construction, Finance or Business discipline or equivalent experience. •Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering or construction. •Experience related to resource management, dispatching work, scheduling and work planning. ••Strong understanding of electric delivery planning, engineering and construction. •Strong understanding of construction work management systems like SAP, DWMS, CAD. •Must possess a strong understanding of electric delivery planning, engineering and construction. •Must be proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. •Self-starter with strong planning and organizational skills. •Must have excellent interpersonal and team building skills. •Must possess a valid driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver history. •Ability to support division storm restoration efforts and other significant ED system events during off hours.

Desired:

  • Experience related to job gating in DWMS or similar systems. •Familiarity with SAP Compatible Units. •Familiarity with Electric Distribution and Transmission operations, construction and maintenance. •Familiarity with MS Access database logic.
