The Graduate Department of Marital and Family Therapy at Loyola Marymount University is seeking to fill a One-Year full time Instructor position in our MFT / Art Therapy training program. The department offers a masters’ degree in “Marriage and Family Therapy with specialized training in Art Therapy”, as well as an intercultural summer exchange program in Mexico, a community outreach art therapy clinic, a journal dedicated to the exploration of clinical art therapy, a research institute focused on art therapy inquiry and a variety of community arts outreach engagements.

A relevant doctorate degree, and demonstrated capacity to teach and mentor graduate students through their two years of academic and clinical work leading to registration with the American Art Therapy Association, and MFT licensure in the State of California is required. Applicants should have a relevant knowledge (preferably evidenced by previous teaching experience) in family systems theory, art psychopathology / psychological testing, art therapy research mentorship, adult treatment and ethical issues of MFT / Art Therapy. The position includes an instruction load of 4 courses per semester, and an expectation that the instructor participates (face to face or remotely) in our faculty meetings. The position is termed for one academic year.
